An investigation is under way after a shooting incident in Bradford this morning.

The incident, which is believed to be targeted, happened on Leeds Old Road at 12.20am when the weapon was discharged into a parked vehicle. No one was injured.

Detective Chief Inspector Jaz Khan leads the Force’s Firearms Prevent Team and is overseeing the investigation.

He said: “The incident may only be a few hours old but with officers currently at the scene carrying out extensive enquiries and we already have some positive leads.

“What we now need is for members of the local community to come forward. We know that the attacker was waiting outside the scene for about half an hour to 40 minutes in a stolen Kia Venga car which had the false registration plates of BN12 UAK.

“Did you see anything suspicious on or around this time?

“We also know that the vehicle was stolen in Bradford on September 9. What we do not know is where it has been since then.
